Fleurieu Folk Festival

Promoting young South Australian musicians has always been a significant priority for the Fleurieu Folk Festival. Each year, we nominate an outstanding folk musician aged between 14 and 25 to represent South Australia in Folk Alliance Australia's youth showcase concerts at the National Folk Festival in Canberra. The aim of the Youth Awards is to boost the profile of young performers and introduce, support and encourage them to the next level of their development.

South Australia's biggest and most welcoming folk music event showcases over 50 top local, interstate, and international folk musicians. This three-day celebration is predominately run by volunteers and covers a wide range of genres, offering something for everyone, including workshops, sessions, dancers, concerts, and more. The festival also prioritizes supporting young South Australian musicians, with an annual nomination for a representative aged 14-25.
