The Race Officer also known as “Race Control”, is responsible for overseeing sailing events to ensure they run smoothly. This vital role involves coordinating various activities within sailing events.
The volunteer will coordinate Course Planning, Boat management, Signal Display, Mark Placement, Timekeeping and Safety Oversight. We prefer previous experience in race management or related roles in the sailing community, effective communication over channels and with on-water and onshore teams, commitment to prioritising and ensuring participant safety and strong organisational abilities to manage multiple event aspects simultaneously.
Proficiency in using technology for timekeeping and course management. VGC recruits for this role.
