If you like chatting to and helping older residents to maintain their independence and community connections, and you also enjoy safe driving – we’d love to talk to you.
Our team of volunteer drivers take clients with limited transport options to their appointments, or help with fortnightly shopping (includes providing local transport and assistance for grocery or personal shopping, and shopping from a list). Your volunteering contributes to a highly valued community service through Council’s Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) which provides a range of low-level services for older people, helping them to remain independent in their own home.
You’ll have a good driving history and if possible use your own vehicle (mileage reimbursed).
