We require female volunteers to support migrant and refugee women in learning how to sew in a weekly sewing group. On Mondays 10am until 2 pm.

The role

The volunteers will assist with set-up of sewing machines and coffee/tea facilities and pack up/clean up after the group finishes. They will support the women during the session with whatever is needed and knowing how to sew would be appreciated. You must have a positive attitude and an interest in empowering women to learn a new skill as well as practice their English in a safe place. Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and First Nations women are encouraged to apply.

Need to know

Sewing skills would be a great advantage.
