We are seeking a female volunteer aged 40-60ish, who would be able to make regular visits to a lady living in aged care in the Marion Council area, for a chat and a friendly game of Scrabble.
This opportunity is available through St Jude's Aged Care Visitors Scheme. This is an Australia wide, government funded program which aims to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation on older people. Volunteers are asked to make fortnightly visits, with the goal of slowly building a friendship. Visits are generally 1- 2 hours long, & are timed to suit the person being visited and the volunteer. No aged care experience is required, just a friendly nature and genuine respect for older adults.
A National Police Clearance. This can be arranged without cost to the Volunteer.
