Nov 02, 2023

Volunteering is often surrounded by the stigma of “volunteering is for older people” but we're here to change your views of volunteering with the ‘Rethink Volunteering’ campaign.

Here are five ways you can get involved in our fun and exciting ‘Rethink Volunteering’ campaign and help us change the stigma around volunteering today.

1. Follow our social media

Follow our socials in the coming weeks to see a wide range of Rethink Volunteering content including; how to find a cause you’re passionate about, volunteering and schooling advice and volunteering wisdom from some of our seasoned volunteers.

2. Explore the Rethink Volunteering Web Page

Head to the FreddyMatch website to find out more about the Rethink Volunteering campaign and how you can get your school involved with FreddyMatch and volunteering.

3. Start ‘Rethinking’ the Stigma of Volunteering

One of the biggest reasons we created ‘Rethink Volunteering’ was to prompt society to rethink the way they view volunteering and change the stigma of “volunteering if for older people.”

We want to encourage you to start rethinking the way you view volunteering and encourage you to view it as an activity for those of every age and is fun, exciting and fulfilling.

4. Sign up to FreddyMatch and Apply for Opportunities

If you haven’t already sign up to FreddyMatch and create a profile. From here start browsing volunteering opportunities in your area and apply for ones that align with your interests and passions.

5. Spread the Word

Encourage others to view our campaign, rethink their views on volunteering and help us change the stigma surrounding volunteering one person at a time.

You can also encourage your friends and family to sign up to FreddyMatch and start volunteering together.
