Self Directed Volunteer Opportunities

Self Directed Volunteer Opportunities exist on the FreddyMatch platform to provide you with a variety of volunteer project ideas that you can DIY in your own community, in your own time, with your own outcomes / goals in mind!

With this overarching definition in mind, you can find a variety of youth-led, community-led, informal, citizen science, flexible and/or customisable volunteer project ideas for you to browse which are displayed under "Self Directed Volunteer Opportunities".

This is a friendly space to brainstorm ideas for yourself, or on behalf of a group of people. If you are interested in more information about an opportunity, simply apply and a staff member of Freddy Match will email you with further details, links and/or instructions.

We strongly recommend that if someone under the age of 18 wishes to participate in any of these opportunities, that they ask a supervising adult (which could be an educator, a parent, guardian, support worker, youth worker, etc.) to apply on their behalf and guide them throughout the process to ensure their safety is prioritised whilst they volunteer.
