Social Support Connectors enrich the life of an older person , who is living at home, by building friendships, reducing isolation and sharing common interests & links to their local community.
Volunteers are matched to older people based on shared skills, interests, hobbies and cultural identity so they can share conversation, play board & memory games, cards, discuss current events, art and craft etc. Visits are usually once a fortnight, at a time mutually agreeable and a 12 months commitment is preferred to encourage a trusted and natural friendship. Visits can be at the home or out in the community. No nursing, personal care, cleaning or housework is required. Centrelink app
